The Department of Radio Systems – one of the University leading Departments – was founded in 1960.

Among the staff members of the Department there are five professors, nine assistant professors, PhDs, who are experienced teachers and researchers.
The Department is a united educational and research body with the Research Institute of Radio Systems. Two prove grounds in the Tomsk and Sakhalin regions belong to this body. Students undergo practical training there and at some outstanding enterprises in Russia and abroad.
The Department did a lot for the radio physics development and for design of the modern radio complexes of defense and civil purpose. The results of the members of the Department staff activity are well known in Russia and abroad.
